Eylül Fidan Akıncı

Eylül Fidan Akıncı is an artist, dramaturg, researcher, teacher, and organizer in performing arts. She works as the dance programmer at STUK House for Dance, Image & Sound, Leuven (BE). She received her Ph.D. in Theatre and Performance at The Graduate Center, City University of New York in 2022. Her dissertation analyzes the dramaturgy of objects and nature in contemporary choreography through a feminist lens, which was awarded by the Dissertation Year Fellowship of The Graduate Center. Her research areas include dramaturgy, contemporary dance, physical theatre, objects and materiality, ecocriticism, biopolitics and necropolitics, feminism and sexuality, and continental philosophy. She has taught university seminars, master classes, and workshops on dance and theatre theory/history, dramaturgy, improvised movement and writing, public speech, and spoken poetry. She has organized international symposia, conferences, public talks, and screenings in both academic and arts institutions.
